| Geumgang River is the 6th longest river in Korea and the 3rd
river, next but Hangang and Nakdonggang in South Korea. There
are some cities such as Daejeon, Cheongju, Jochiwon, Gongju,
Buyeo, and Gunsan in the valley. It is the valuable river which
supplies water to the inhabitant of the large area including
Jeollabuk-do, Chungcheongnam-do, and Chungcheongbuk-do. Its
area is 988.5km and the length is 401.4km. Gumgang Valley has
more mountains than plains. The upper stream flows slowly and
windingly through the valleys in mountains, and the downstream
finds its way to the sea flowing through plains and passing
Gunsan. |
