  1. Conditions of Establishment
    Geumgang Estuary has the rest place for seasonal birds, a gift of nature, such as farm land, field of reeds, and tidal flat around it. It is a very important place because winter birds breeding in Eurasia and the Arctic zone of China pass the winter there and snipes and plovers stop over it.
    The Government selected Geumgang Estuary in Gunsan, where the birds pass the winter and stop over and where is near downtown and is easy to reach, out of the seasonal birds' habitats such as Cheolwon, Cheonsuman, and Suncheon after screening them in order to make it a natural park to observe birds and a facility to offer knowledge and information of birds and in order to promote protection of natural environment and wild birds.

    3,838m2 of Observatory Center, one underground, two floors above ground, eleven floors of observatory, 169m2 of subsidiary facility
  3. Main Facilities of the Building
    There are exhibition, a projection room, a lecture room, a reading room, a storehouse, and an observatory in the building, and there are three birdwatch rooms, a bird protecting house, a bird sculpture park, a pond, and an artificial waterfall out of the building. It is the first bird theme park equipped with various facilities for observation, study, and experience.
