- Features: It is an annual
plant. It has no hair and it is 15-50 cm long. It has many
twigs in the upper part. The leaf is alternate and fleshy,
and it has the shape of a stick, which is 5-35 mm in length
and 2-4 mm in width. The end is round or blunt, whose color
is green at first and becomes red purple which dyes sea
red. The flowers are miscellaneous and bloom in August and
September, whose color is green and 2-10 of them hang among
the leaves. They have no the flower stalks and have 5 perianth
and stamens, and the styles are classified into two types.
The fruit is an utricle with the shape of a disk, which
is covered with the perianth of the flower and has a seed
like lens.
- Habitat: They live in stocks
in a seaside tidal flat.
- Range: In Korea, They are
found in Jeollabuk-do, Jeollanam-do, Chucheongnam-do, and
the Western Sea. They also live in Japan.
- Remark: The young sprout
is eatable.
